FDNY Firefighters Help Rebuild Boy Scout Camp
OMAHA, Neb. --
New York City firefighters will travel to Iowa and help those Boy Scouts who survived a tornado last year rebuild their devastated camp.
The firefighters, some of whom survived the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center, will help Little Sioux scouts and their families rebuild the camp with materials salvaged from the storm.
The camp was hit by an EF 3 category tornado last June. Four boys died and several were hurt.
The firefighter's appearance is being sponsored by New York Says Thank You Foundation, which has dedicated itself to helping rebuild communities out of appreciation for the support shown to New York in the wake of the terrorist attacks.
The public can donate to the foundation at NewYorkSaysThankYou.org.
