Condo Residents Evacuated From Two Alarm Florida Fire
Altamonte Springs, Fla. --
Dozens of condo residents were forced from their homes in Altamonte Springs after a two-alarm fire broke out on Thanksgiving night. The fire started before 10 p.m. at the Waterside at Cranes Roost complex near I-4 and SR-436.
Fire crews said they arrived at the scene and saw a lot of smoke and flames spewing from a third floor unit. They evacuated at last 27 condominium units.
Eyewitnesses said they saw flames coming from the bottom of the door of the third floor unit before two people ran outside with hoods covering their heads.
Firefighters attacked the fire from above and quickly got it under control. They contained the flames to one unit, but there was smoke damage to two others.
Firefighters said no one was hurt and they often respond to more fires when the temperature drops, but they dont know what started the fire.
