2 Mississippi Firefighters Injured While Saving Church

Two firefighters are recovering after battling a church fire.

JACKSON, Miss. --

Two firefighters are recovering after battling a church fire.

McDowell Baptist Church on McDowell Road in Jackson caught fire around 9 p.m. Sunday.

The fire was mainly contained to the roof of the building.

It took several firefighters nearly an hour to put the flames out.

All streets in the area are now back open.

Officials said two firefighters sustained minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
