Pennsylvania Blaze Leaves Boy Dead, Dad Hurt

The father tried to quell the flames using pans of water and a fire extinguisher.

In York County, a 10-year-old West York boy has died of his injuries following a fire in his home Thursday.

Tru Barton was being treated at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Burn Center in Baltimore.

His father, David Barton, was also injured and remains in critical condition in the same hospital.

Firefighters said David Barton tried to put out the fire in his West King Street home with a fire extinguisher and pans of water. Both he and his son were pulled from the burning house by firefighters.
