Texas Firefighters Free Trapped Man
EL PASO, Texas --
El Paso firefighters help free a man who was pinned underneath a mini van Monday morning. The incident happened on Songland Avenue and Easy Street in the Upper Valley just before 3 a.m.
Police said the driver and pedestrian knew each other, and both were visiting someone. Police said the 22-year-old man was banging frantically on the woman's minivan windows, asking for a ride. They believe she may have lost sight of him and put the vehicle in drive mode.
Somehow the man was pulled underneath the minivan and pinned.
"The man was conscious the whole time, moaning and complaining of pain, but we could tell he had no head injuries. It was mostly the car resting on his chest," said Capt. Manuel Torres, of the El Paso Fire Department.
The 22-year-old man is at Thomason Hospital with a broken arm. Police are still trying to determine if the 21-year-old woman had been drinking, and charges are pending.
