Beer Burns in Pennsylvania

Jan. 22, 2007
Police called the fire department when they felt the door.

A Westmoreland County beer distributor was destroyed by fire Sunday night, State Police said.

State Police initially responded to a burglary call at the Latrobe 30 Beverage Center on Route 30.

But when they arrived and felt the door-- they called in the fire department.

Once they opened the door, the fire really took off, the Marguerite VFD's fire chief said.

Over a dozen fire companies battled the thick smoke and flames before managing to extinguish the blaze, police said.

A State Police fire marshal will visit the fire scene Monday to look for a cause.
