MOSCOW (AP) -- A fire broke out Thursday at a boarding school for mentally disabled children in Moscow, prompting authorities to evacuate the children, officials and news reports said. There were no immediate reports of casualties.

The fire department received a signal that the roof of the building just north of central Moscow was on fire, a department spokeswoman said. She had no other information.

All the students at the school were being evacuated, Russian news agencies reported. the ITAR-Tass news agency said the fire was burning on 300 square meters (3,200 square feet) and that 25 firefighting crews arrived at the scene.
