More than a thousand students and faculty were evacuated from a Bronx school yesterday after an oil spill sent 38 children and three adults to hospitals, where they were treated for nausea.
January 11, 2005 -- More than a thousand students and faculty were evacuated from a Bronx school yesterday after an oil spill sent 38 children and three adults to hospitals, where they were treated for nausea.

Emergency workers arrived at Isobel Rooney MS 80 at 11:30 a.m. after kids complained of difficulty breathing, chest pains and headaches.

"There was a 20-gallon oil spill in the basement," said Fire Department spokesman Tim Himchey.
