Governor Pataki helped unveil a new memorial in Albany Wednesday in honor of emergency medical service personnel in the state who have died in the line of duty.

Zach Zeng, a University of Rochester graduate and former Brighton Ambulance volunteer, is among those whose names appear on the granite monument. Zeng died helping people at the World Trade Center on September 11th. His mother and one of his former co-workers from Brighton were in Albany for the dedication.

The memorial also includes the names of Jeffrey Burt and Brian Shaw, who died in 1996 when a Mercy Flight Central helicopter piloted by Burt crashed in Yates County as the two technicians were airlifting a hunting accident victim to the hospital. The accident victim was also killed.
