He will bear the scars from his burns forever, but when Shawn Simons graduates today from Seton Hall University, it won't be the fire he remembers.

As Simons sits with the 2004 graduating class, he'll think about how far he's come since flames ravaged the third-floor of his freshman dormitory -- killing three classmates and injuring 58 others. He spent weeks in a coma and months relearning how to use his scorched hands.
