FILLMORE, IL - A knock at the door in the middle of the night on December 18, was how Darin Beckman found out his fire station, the Fillmore Volunteer Fire Protection District was on fire. When First Assistant Chief Darin Beckman and his father Morris arrive on scene, they see smoke billowing from the front bay doors and know they can do nothing, less they chance a greater fire by opening the doors before their mutual aid companies arrive.
