Crash Leaves Some Mass. Towns Without 911 Systems

HUNTINGTON, Mass. (AP) -- State police are investigating a car crash in Huntington that took down a telephone pole which supported critical communication cables, leaving several towns without 911 systems.
Police said on Saturday that services will be restored to Huntington, Chester and other nearby towns within five days.
A command post has been established at the Huntington Fire Department and state police will provide extra patrols to the towns affected by the incident.
Police did not provide details related to the crash except to say that troopers responded to the crash on Route 112 in Huntington late Friday.
