TX Driver/Operator Succumbs to COVID-19

A veteran firefighter in southern Texas near Corpus Christi died earlier this month of complications related to COVID-19.

The U.S. Fire Administration on Thursday announced the line of duty death of Alice Fire Department driver/operator Robert Liguez, 52, who was a 27-year veteran of the fire service.

According to USFA, Liguez was on several EMS runs in mid-August when he came into contact with and assisted multiple patients who later tested positive for the deadly virus.
