The Southborough Fire Department announced the active-duty death of probationary full-time Firefighter Lisa Thompson.
Thompson, a Medway resident, and mother of two sons, joined the Southborough Fire Department full-time on Nov. 15. She previously served as a call-firefighter in Sherborn and Medway, according to a story by Patch.com.
In a social media post, the department said, “In that short time, she demonstrated a sincere commitment to her fellow firefighters, the department, and to those we serve.”
Firefighter Thompson’s family members, including her husband who is a police officer, started a GoFundMe page to offset the funeral expenses. Thompson leaves behind a husband and two young boys.
