Kitchener's Pumper/Tanker

Kitchener, Ontario, Canada had particular needs when it decided to order a pumper tanker from KME Fire Apparatus.

Built on a Severe Service 100-inch chassis, the aparatus has an XLFD cab with a 22-inch raised roof and a cab extension.

It's powered by a MaxxForce 13, 450-hp engine matted to an Allison 3000EVS five-speed automatic transmission.

The body features full-height, split depth compartments on both side with a ladder rack on the officer's side of the apparatus. The over all length of the apparatus is 37 feet long and the overall height is about 10-feet 10-inches tall.

For firefighting, it has a Hale 1,250 gpm pump with a 2,500-gallon tank with a Newton dump valve. It also has an integrated 50-gallon foam cell and a FoamPro 2002 foam system and an Akron OS fill system. It also has a dual front bumper discharge system in an an enclosed tray.

Other features include Amdor rollup doors, a stainless steel body an Onan 6,000-watt hydraulic generator, frontal impact protection as well as Rolltek rollover protection and and electronic stability anti-roll system.
