Hand-In-Hand Hose Company Take Delivery of New Pumper

Hand-In-Hand Hose Company, in City of Lock Haven, Pa. has taken delivery of a new Pierce PUC pumper. It's built on a Pierce Arrow XT cab and chassis and has a 189-inch PUC body and is powered by a Detroit Diesel 500-hp engine and an Allison transmission.

To fight fire, it has a Pierce PUC pump, 1,000-gallon water tank, and a Pierce Husky foam system with 20-gallon Class A foam cell and a 30-gallon Class B foam cell.

Other apparatus features include an On-Spot tire chains system, TAK-4 independent suspension, a cab with seating for eight occupants and the PS6 occupant protection system with air bags. It also has side and rear vision cameras, hands free SCBA brackets and all LED lighting.

The PUC body has red LED lighting for compartments, roll-out trays for equipment, a cord reel with 200-feet of cord and an oil dry hopper.

It was purchased to replace a 1989 Pierce Dash pumper and was sold by Tyler Fire Equipment in Elmira, N.Y.
