Duval, W.Va., Volunteers Get Commercial Pumper

Fire Chief Nathan Price and the members of the Duval Volunteer Fire Department in, Griffithsville, W.Va., recently took delivery of a pumper built by Smeal on a Freightliner cab and chassis.

Fire Chief Nathan Price and the members of the Duval Volunteer Fire Department in, Griffithsville, W.Va., recently took delivery of a pumper built by Smeal on a Freightliner cab and chassis. It is powered by a Detroit Diesel engine and an Allison transmission.

To fight fire, the apparatus has a Waterous pump and a UPF tank. Other equipment includes an 1/8-inch aluminum body, R.O.M. roll-up doors, Whelen warning and scene lights and a Federal Signal Q2B siren.

It was sold by Jeff Watkins, Dill's Fire & Safety Equipment Co., Inc., Ravenswood, W.Va.
