Firefighters with the Merrillville Fire Department recently placed in service Tender 7341, an apparatus built by Pierce.

Firefighters with the Merrillville Fire Department recently placed in service Tender 7341, an apparatus built by Pierce with a 3,000-gallon UPF tank and a Waterous 1,500-gpm pump. The unit also has a Class A Husky foam system a SmartPower 6.2Kw generator, a Will-Burt Night Scan light tower with 1.8 LED lights. It also has Gortite roll-up doors and Whelen warning and scene lights. It's powered by a Detroit Diesel 500-hp engine and an Allison transmission.
