The Charlton, N.Y., Volunteer Fire Department has recently taken delivery of a 2015 HME rescue pumper built on an 1871-W chassis with an MFDxl cab and chassis.

The Charlton, N.Y., Volunteer Fire Department has recently taken delivery of a 2015 HME rescue pumper built on an 1871-W chassis with an MFDxl cab and chassis with a 12-inch raised roof. It's powered by a Cummins 450-hp engine and an Allison 3000EVS transmission with Spicer 1760 drivelines. To fight fire, it has a Hale Qflo 1,250-gpm pump, a 1,614-gallon, HME Hydra Technology, three speedlays, a Hale Foam Logix 3.3 Class B foam system and a side-mounted stainless steel pump panel. Other equipment include a ProMariner battery charger with a Kussmaul auto eject, a 12-volt Kussmaul Auto-Air compressor, On-Spot automatic tire chains, a TFT monitor and an interior LED lighting package. It also has a through the tank ladder storage compartment, a 6-inch jet dump, roll-up doors, coffin compartments, FRC LED quartz and scene lighting, and a Whelen emergency lighting package.
