A Munfordville Fire Department rig was overturned at a crash scene when a semi-truck rear-ended the responding apparatus in Bonnieville.

According to WBKO, the Munfordville Fire Department was responding Tuesday afternoon to a call for a multi-vehicle wreck along Interstate 65.

The department apparatus pulled along the side of the road with lights and sirens activated, but the driver of the semi-truck did not see the emergency vehicle and rear-ended it on the driver's side, causing the apparatus to overturn into a ditch.

Firefighters Charles Jones, who was driving the apparatus, and Jeremy Reynolds were transported to Caverna Hospital where they were treated and released for minor injuries.

The driver of the semi-truck, who was uninjured, was cited for failure to give right of way to an emergency vehicle and failure to give right of way to a stopped emergency vehicle.
