Somerset Fire & Rescue, Franklin Township, NJ, Puts Rescue 56 in Service

Somerset Fire & Rescue, Franklin Township, NJ, has placed in service an Emergency Vehicles Inc (EVI) heavy rescue built on a Seagrave cab and chassis. Rescue 56 is powered by a Cummins 450-hp engine and an Allison transmission. It has seating for eight occupants in the cab with two storage cabinets and a transverse compartment. It has a 9,000-pound portable winch with four receivers, roll-out draw compartments under the box including behind the rear wheel, front bumper basket with extrication tools, rope anchors on the box, roll-out tool trays, wheel well storage and a transverse box compartment. Other features include a Will-Burt light tower, a Harrison 30,000-watt generator, a four-bottle cascade system for confined space incidents and to operate air tools. It also has six extrication tools.
