E-ONE has been awarded two ner orders from the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) totaling 14 apparatus on behalf of the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Navy. These two new awards come on the heels of two recent orders for six trucks. The orders call for nine HP75 aerial ladders for the Air Force and five Titan Force aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) vehicles for the Navy. The new units will be placed into service at military bases both domestically and abroad in 2012.
CMJ UNDERWRITERS and FIREMAN’S FUND INSURANCE CO. have partnered to award a $17,860 grant to the FDNY for the purchase of a forcible-entry simulator, exercise equipment and tools to enhance the training of its members.
“This generous donation will enhance the training our members receive every day,” said Fire Commissioner Salvatore J. Cassano. “It’s once again shows that Fireman’s Fund is a true friend to the FDNY.”
Since 2006, Fireman’s Fund has awarded the FDNY more than $470,000. This is the fourth grant directed to the FDNY by CMJ Underwriters.
CRIMSON FIRE INC. has been awarded a multi-year contract to build and deliver custom, high-performance fire apparatus for use by several fire departments in Chile. Bomberos de Chile has authorized initial production of five vehicles and could purchase as many as 30 units over the life of the contract. Additionally, the Santiago Fire Department has purchased a Transformer pumper and an industrial pumper with a Boomer. The units are scheduled for fourth-quarter 2011 delivery.

PIERCE MANUFACTURING has expanded the sales territory of Reliant Fire Apparatus Inc. to represent the Pierce brand in Iowa in addition to its present territory of southern Wisconsin. Since its inception, Reliant Fire Apparatus has sold and placed into service more than 400 Pierce fire and rescue vehicles in southern Wisconsin. The company has received Pierce’s Gold sales certification for five straight years.

FERRARA FIRE APPARATUS INC. has received the Safest 70 Award from the Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corporation (LWCC). The award is in recognition of Ferrara’s “outstanding excellence and commitment to workplace safety,” LWCC President and CEO Kristin Wall said. The Safest 70 Award is presented annually to 70 Louisiana companies in recognition of their commitment to safety. Approximately 18,000 Louisiana companies are LWCC policyholders. TSI INC. has announced the ISO 9001:2008 Standard recertification of its Shoreview, MN, facility. The ISO audit performed by BSI reviewed the quality-management system in great detail. In addition to achieving recertification, zero nonconformance findings were issued.
SEAGRAVE FIRE APPARATUS has announced that two companies will represent it for sales and service throughout Ontario and Quebec. Ontario Fire Truck of Dundas, Ontario, will represent Seagrave throughout northern, western, southern and central Ontario. Eastway Emergency Vehicles of Carleton Place, Ontario, will represent Seagrave for primarily aerial sales in northern and eastern Ontario, all of Quebec, and northern New York State.
