Sprinklers Stop Spread of FEMA Fire in Maryland

CUMBERLAND, Md. -- A sprinkler prevented a blaze from spreading to several motor coaches housed in a FEMA warehouse on Monday.The blaze, discovered in the rear area of a communications motor coach, caused about $400,000 damage, officials told WHAG-TV.An electrical malfunction has been blamed for the fire at the FEMA facility where satellite and computer equipment are stored.

CUMBERLAND, Md. -- A sprinkler prevented a blaze from spreading to several motor coaches housed in a FEMA warehouse on Monday.

The blaze, discovered in the rear area of a communications motor coach, caused about $400,000 damage, officials told WHAG-TV.

An electrical malfunction has been blamed for the fire at the FEMA facility where satellite and computer equipment are stored.

It took about 40 firefighters four hours to remove the smoke, the station reported.
