Many times over the past several years I have devoted my efforts to attacking the people who do not understand the importance of what we in the fire service really do for our citizens. It is as tough for me as for any other writer to gauge the relative impact of their success. However this does not stop most of us from plowing ahead and writing about those things in which we place our beliefs.
I believe that the fire service is a critical element in the fabric of our nation. My beliefs are based upon my research and education as substantiated by my personal experience over the last four decades. Apparently someone in the federal government agrees with me.
