Rod Hammer is a captain and training officer with the Lewiston, UT, Volunteer Fire Department. He has a master’s degree in exercise science and is the director of Human Performance Research at Icon Health and Fitness, a manufacturer of fitness equipment. Hammer also is the fitness coordinator for the Cache County Fire District. He consults with career and volunteer fire departments to establish firefighter fitness programs.
