Recent fires from around the country.

Lemoyne, PA, Sept. 12, 2016— Approximately 100 firefighters from 20 companies representing Cumberland, Dauphin and York counties responded to a three-alarm fire that destroyed multiple buildings at the Laffery & Co. lumberyard. First-arriving units were met with heavy fire and fought the fire defensively. Crews battled the blaze for several hours to gain control, and remained on scene for almost 24 hours to fully extinguish the deep-seated fire.

New Orleans, LA, Sept. 15, 2016—Nearly 70 New Orleans firefighters responded to a fire in an unoccupied single-story, wood-framed dwelling in the city’s Broadmoor neighborhood. The fire extended to the occupied two-story, multi-unit dwelling next door, so firefighters immediately requested a second alarm. A third alarm was called as the fire quickly spread through the multi-unit structure. No injuries were reported.

Shirley, Long Island, NY, Sept. 13, 2016— Brookhaven Fire Department crews arrived on scene to find the rear of a house fully engulfed in flames. Assistance was called in from numerous surrounding departments, and mutual aid responded from Center Moriches, Mastic, Hagerman, Mastic Beach, North Bellport and Ridge, to name a few. No injuries were reported.

Monrovia, CA, Sept. 26, 2016—Firefighters from the Monrovia, Arcadia and Pasadena fire departments responded to a reported house fire, and the first units on scene reported heavy smoke to the rear with possible exposures. Three structures were involved—a duplex, garage and house. The primary attic fire was in the duplex extending the entire length of the attic over both units.
