Rookies

I just don't understand.  I'm young im only 18 but i have been around the fire dept. for a long while.  Why do new members think they no more than me we took the same class, but i have been around it longer.  What makes them think that when i no that they moy no something that I dont or vise versa i mean someone help me please.
