In Ireland, the pipes might be calling for Danny boy. But in Tennessee, they're also rolling.
At least that's the case for Nashville firefighter Tim Mathes aka "the HoverPiper."
Mathes is the pipe major for the Nashville Firefighters Pipes & Drums and he picked up his memorable musical moniker thanks to having mastered a very particular skill set: playing the bagpipes—an instrument with a long history in the fire service—while riding a hover board—a device with a long history of catching on fire.
Mathes' talents were on display in a recent fire station video that was shared with WZTV-TV. In that video, he's shown entertaining his fellow firefighters with an impromptu concert.
