Dec. 14--The missing occupant of a Worcester triple-decker that partially collapsed in a blaze last week, killing a firefighter who was searching for the man, has been arrested on outstanding warrants for crimes not connected to the fire, according to authorities.

Ronald Robbins, 21, who had been living at 49 Arlington St., is due to be arraigned in Worcester Central District Court this afternoon on charges unrelated to the fire that took the life of 17-year veteran firefighter Jon Davies and injured his partner, Brian Carroll, said Tim Connolly, spokesman for the Worcester District Attorney's office.

Connolly said investigators have interviewed Robbins about the fire.

Davies and his Rescue 1 crew had already searched the building when a neighbor reported that an occupant was missing, prompting firefighters from the elite unit to go back into the burning building to search for the man presumed to be trapped inside.

Davies was killed when the rear of the building collapsed; Carroll was found an hour later, alive and pinned under debris in the basement.

A wake for Davies will take place tonight followed by a funeral service tomorrow at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church.
