John G. Coughlin, 43, was appointed to the New York City Police Department in January of 1983. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, he was promoted to sergeant in 1988 and assigned to ESU in 1995.
John was also an active member of the David B. Roche Volunteer Fire Company in Thiells, New York, serving as Corresponding Secretary.
He leaves behind his wife Patricia and his three daughters, Erin, Kayla and Tara
