Firefighters pulled a mother and her children from the rubble of their home.
The Sandy Springs family was trapped in the basement after a tree fell on their house on Riverview Road.
Getting to Jodi Shearin and her family was not easy for Sandy Springs firefighters because downed trees and power lines blocked the roadway.
A firefighter asked a CBS Atlanta News crew to leave the scene because he said it was dangerous.
While the news crew members were walking back to their truck, they saw lights coming up behind them.
One firefighter was carrying Shearin's toddler. Shearin was carrying the family's dog, and her teenager was walking behind her.
"Hold Mommy's hand right there," one firefighter told the toddler.
Shearin said they became trapped in the basement after a tree fell on their house.
"We ran down into the laundry room and, as soon as we got down to the laundry room, that's when the tree started falling. It happened really, really fast," said Shearin.
"Could you hear the tree falling?" asked CBS Atlanta reporter Tony McNary.
"Yes, we heard hail, and as soon as we heard the hail, we ran down into the basement," said Shearin.
Shearin said her children were frightened, but they were brave and so was the family dog Frisby.
"He was shaking the whole time, but he was fine," said Shearin.
