Alabama Fire Station Damaged by Blaze

There was no one in the firehouse when the blaze started.

A fire station in Danville, Ala. was damaged by fire Friday morning.

The extent of damages to Danville Fire Station #2 and its equipment won't be known until later today.

WHNT reporters said the fire started about 7 a.m., and no one was there at the time.

Water was shuttled in as the closest hydrant is about a mile away.

At least one ambulance inside the station was destroyed. The state fire marshal is investigating.

Among the departments that sent firefighters to help were Danville, Massey, Punkin Center, Falkville, Hartselle and Speake.
