 The Pittsboro Fire Department station houses one engine, one tanker, one ambulance, a grass truck, and has two command vehicles which are staffed by the Chief and Assistant Chief. The department is a combination department with six full time personnel and 20 reserves that are on a paid stand by. Pittsboro is about 20 miles west of Indianapolis. Pittsboro Fire Dept. protects a primarily rural area with some large industry. Population is close to 7,000 people.
