The Greenwood Fire Department is a combination department consisting of thirty (30) full-time employees and eighty (80) paid on call/paid station standby volunteers. We protect a 25 square mile response area that has a permanent resident population of approximately 43,500. We have a daily visitor population of 30,000 to 50,000 people due to the high retail occupancy concentration of the city.

We protect a 25 square mile response area that has a permanent resident population of approximately 43,500. We have a daily visitor population of 30,000 to 50,000 people due to the high retail occupancy concentration of the city. We provide fire, explosion, rescue, EMS, hazardous material response as well as dive rescue for our jurisdiction and assist regularly with five (5) primary mutual aid fire departments.
