In Quarters: Wylie, TX, Station 3

Wylie Fire Station 3 is home to Quint 3 and the expanding cache of special operations equipment.

Wylie Station 3, which opened in 2009, was the first station that incorporated a formal plan for storing first-due fire apparatus and the expanding cache of special operations equipment.

In addition to Quint 3, the station is also home to a 25-foot Boston Whaler fire/rescue boat, a hazardous materials response trailer, a swift water trailer with Neoteric Hovercraft, and a Zodiac rigid inflatable boat.

Wylie Fire Rescue, established in 1909, now serves approximately 60 square miles of rural southeast Collin County, including service to the City of St. Paul. The extraterritorial jurisdiction includes a portion of Dallas and Rockwall counties and Lake Lavon. The population within the city limits is approximately 44,000.

The department, headed by Brent Parker, staffs three fire stations with four-person quint fire companies.

Wylie Fire Rescue maintains an ISO-1 rating.
