A 20-year veteran with Jacksonville Fire and Rescue, Engineer Heath J. O'Shea, 44, died Saturday morning.

A Jacksonville Fire and Rescue engineer who suffered a medical emergency at his station Friday night has died.

Engineer Heath J. O'Shea, 44, received EMS treatment from colleagues at Station 54 before being transported to a hospital.  He died early Saturday morning, according to News4JAX. 

O’Shea served in the department for 20 years and was assigned to Tanker-54.

“Engineer O’Shea selflessly and honorably served the City of Jacksonville throughout his distinguished career and his passing will forever leave a void in this community,” according to a fire department release.
