Nine firefighters were killed during a fire in a furniture showroom in Charleston, SC, on June 18, 2007. See page 66 for the first report.

Dedication: This month’s Firehouse is dedicated to Captain/Paramedic Billy A. Gafford, 56, of the Birmingham, AL, Fire & Rescue Service; Captain Joe Ed Ivy, 51, of the Nacogdoches, TX, Fire Department; Firefighter Christopher Jaros, 24, of the Ceredo, WV, Volunteer Fire-Rescue Department; Firefighter Vernon "Bob" McKenzie, 64, of Gem County Fire Protection District 2 in Sweet, ID; Fire Police Captain Edgar Hamlin Scott, 75, of the Menands, NY, Fire Department; Firefighter/Technician 1 Kyle Robert Wilson, 24, of the Prince William County, VA, Department of Fire and Rescue; and Staff Chief of Operations Bryan Zollner, 44, of CAL FIRE in Sacramento, CA, who died in the line of duty, April 2007.
