A fireball erupts during a fire in a salvage yard in Shaftsbury, VT, on May 28, 2008. It took 100 firefighters from seven departments to control the fire involving 14 cars, two buildings, a large pile of tires and a small wildland area.

Dedication: This month's Firehouse is dedicated to Firefighter Terrance Crockett, 48, of the Kansas City, MO, Fire Department; Deputy Fire Chief Donald "Lee" Grubor, 42, of the Lewiston, IL, Fire Protection District; Firefighter Brent A. Lovrien, 35, of the Los Angeles, CA, Fire Department; and Firefighter Eric Speed, 33, of Caddo Parish, LA, Fire District 2, who died in the line of duty, March 2008; and to Firefighter Brian Schira, 29, and Captain Robin Broxterman, 37, of the Colerain Township, OH, Fire Department, who died in the line of duty, April 2008.
