August 2010

A defensive operation using five tower ladders, deck guns and handlines were used at a row of stores in the Bronx, NY, on March 22, 2009. Three firefighters were injured during the three-alarm fire.

Dedication: This month's Firehouse® is dedicated to Firefighter Brian Carey, 28, of the Homewood, IL, Fire Department; and Captain Dennis Robinson, 61, of the Three Points Fire Department in Tucson, AZ, who died in the line of duty, March 2010; and to Lieutenant Edward Teare, 53 of Independence, OH, Fire Department; and Firefighter Leo Powell, 74, of the Morgan Township Volunteer Fire Department in Lucasville, OH, who died in the line of duty, April 2010.
