July 2010

An early-morning, four-alarm fire spread through a church built in 1848 and involved the steeple. It took 80 firefighters from 11 engines and six trucks to battle the blaze in Middleborough, MA, on May 25, 2009.

Dedication: This issue of Firehouse® is dedicated to Fire Police Captain Kevin Swan, 69, of Beacon Hose Company 1 in Beacon Falls, CT; Firefighter Donald Adkins, 32, of the Glasgow, WV, Volunteer Fire Department; Firefighter Tommy Wright, 20, and Firefighter Jeremy Bolick, 23, both of the Blowing Rock, NC, Fire Department; and Firefighter/Paramedic John P. Moore, 56, of the Columbus, OH, Fire Division, who died in the line of duty, March 2010.
