A Miami-Dade, FL, Fire Rescue division chief takes up a forward command position to direct operations at a fuel-fed fire at the Miami International Airport aviation fuel tank farm on March 23, 2011. Forty-plus MDFR units worked for more than two hours to gain control of the fire.

Dedication: This issue of Firehouse® is dedicated to Captain James Von Roden, 49, of the Lee, FL, Community Volunteer Fire Department, who died in the line of duty, March 2011; and to Firefighter David Hunsinger Jr., 24, of the Tar Heel, NC, Rural Volunteer Fire Department; Captain Randy Boley, 51, of the Clinton Township Volunteer Fire Department in Shreve, OH; Firefighter Gregory Mack Simmons, 50, of the Eastland, TX, Volunteer Fire Department; and Firefighter Jacob Anthony Carter, 18, of the Becker-Athens Volunteer Fire Department in Becker, MS, who died in the line of duty, April 2011.
