    A great training activity is to peel away the outer door panels of an acquired vehicle during extrication training. With the skin removed, participants can readily see the beams, how they are designed, the positioning of the beams within the door and how they are attached with just one layer of sheet metal at each end of the door.

    Bart Township, PA, July 10, 2014 – The Bart Township Fire Company, along with the Quarryville and Gap fire companies, was dispatched to a reported fire caused by a lightning strike. Chief David King arrived on the scene and found a fire in a 30-by-80-foot woodshop. King requested a second alarm, which brought additional engines, tankers and a second truck. Additional tankers were called to the rural scene. Water had to be shuttled to the scene from a nearby creek. Approximately 100 volunteer firefighters responded.
