On Jan. 30, 2014, the GFD responded to an incident initially reported as a vehicle fire inside a business. Upon their arrival, firefighters began to attack the fire and search the structure to ensure that all occupants had evacuated and prevent additional fire spread. A ladder company was assigned to climb to the roof to provide vertical ventilation to reduce the amount of heat and smoke in the building.
