Firefighters battled a two-alarm apartment complex fire in east Denver on Sunday night.
The fire at The Breakers complex at 9099 E. Mississippi Ave. broke out about 9 p.m. and quickly engulfed one unit, Denver fire spokesman Lt. Phil Champagne told 7NEWS reporter Amanda Kost at the scene.
The fire set off rounds of ammunition in the unit, but no one was injured, he said.
Firefighters had the fire snuffed in 15 minutes.
One unit was heavily damaged and another unit had minor damage, he said.
Fire officials issued two alarms as a precaution, because The Breakers is a sprawling complex with 64 buildings and 1,200 units, Champagne said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
