Two firefighters are fully recovered and back at work at the Arvada Fire Protection District after suffering burns at an April 3 house fire, reports KMGH/ABC Denver.
With a report of people trapped inside, firefighters Chris Paine and Kevin Jacovetta were assigned search and rescue duties.
They found no one inside, but then got separated. By the time they got out, they had both suffered second and third degree burns to their hands, arms and backs.
Both underwent multiple skin graft surgeries and made a full recovery - and made the decision to come back to firefighting.
“I wouldn’t have it any other way,” Jacovetta said. “You knock off the dirt and you keep going.”
