Fla. Firefighter, Civilian Critical After Being Struck

The Brevard County firefighter had responded to a scene of an earlier crash in which a driver hit a pole, causing wires to fall across U.S. 1.
A Brevard County firefighter and a civilian were critically injured after being struck by a car Tuesday morning, according to WFOL-TV.

The firefighter had responded to a scene of an earlier crash in which a driver hit a pole, causing wires to fall across U.S. 1.

As the firefighter stood at the scene with two civilians, an oncoming car struck the pole, sending the car involved in the previous crash into their direction.

The unidentified firefighter and one of the civilians were struck and transported to a local hospital.

They are both currently listed in critical condition.
