BAKERSFIELD, Calif. --
Four McFarland boys, aged six to nine are believed to have set two fires last week.
The fires were last Thursday and Friday on Perkins Avenue right next to a county fire station.
McFarland police officer said the boys accidentally set the first fire by playing with a cigarette lighter.
It quickly spread and the boys weren't able to put it out. Altough firefighters kept the fire contained to a small area.
Police said the next day, those boys intentionally set an adjacent field on fire.
About three total acres were burned.
The boys were contacted Thursday at their elementary schools and the juvenile probation department will decide what should happen to them.
