OVERLAND PARK, Kan. --
Overland Park firefighters said a 6-year-old girl died after being pulled from the second floor of a burning duplex late Saturday night.
Crews said they were called to the 10200 block of West 86th Terrace just before 11 p.m. and found smoke coming from a two-story duplex there. Firefighters said they went inside and searched the home, finding a young girl in a second-floor bedroom.
The girl was taken to a hospital with critical injuries and was later pronounced dead. Investigators have not released her name or age.
