Florida Firefighters Pull Teen From House Fire

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --

Rescuers pulled a 14-year-old boy from a house fire in the 10000 block of Indian Walk Road in Mandarin on Wednesday afternoon.

Rescue teams said they found the boy and Great Dane on the ground breathing heavily.

Both were revived, and the boy was taken to Baptist Medical Center, where he was said to be doing OK.

The first firefighters on the scene reported that the house was filled with smoke. They said the fire started in the kitchen and was put out in about 10 minutes.

The home did not appear to have much exterior damage on the front of the home. Neighbors said they saw smoke coming from the back of the home.

About 30 rescue members responded to the fire.
