Firefighter Injured While Battling Minn. Wildfire

A wildland firefighter was injured on Monday while battling a large wildfire in Ely, Minn. when a tree knocked down by a bulldozer hit his leg, according to The Associated Press.

Spokesman Doug Anderson said the firefighter was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The firefighter was one of more than 700 firefighters from 28 states battling the fire in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.

The fire has scorched 147 square miles and is 23 percent contained.

It isn't expected to gain much ground in the next few days as rain is expected to keep it from spreading.
